We took the opportunity of the visit of Prof.Roger Ferlet from IAP at Constantine within the activities of the "Ecole Doctorale d'Astrophysique" to invite him for a public conference in coordination with the new Astronomy Club of the University.

The Opening of the Astronomical
Club
at Mentouri University
March 5th 2012 |
Inauguration of the new Astronomy Club on March 5th 2012 in presence of some actors of the previous Club of the nineties and early 2000's. Were present Abdelahad Zeghoudi former president, Prof.N.Mebarki, and Prof.J.Mimouni. Invited but enable to come, was Toufik Sellami past president and Mourad Hamdouche. |
Lecture by Prof. Mimouni from Mentouri University and the main teacher in the former Club for close to a decade back in the nineties. |
The first lecture delivered was entitled:
"What is Astronomical Culture?" |
Abdelahad Zeghoudi the Club's past president in the nineties receiving an honorary diploma from Khaled the new President. |
Prof.N.Mebarki receiving a distinguished award for his past services in the previous Astronomy Club.
And here Hichem Guergouri receiving on behalf of Sirius an award for Sirius's role in helping the new Club. |

The inaugural exposition was set up in the hall of the main "Bloc des Lettres" building. The attendance was there in force. |
