The El-Bayadh Training Workshop : 2-4 April -2013
A five member strong Sirius team visited this Western Wilaya in t he semi-desertic region of our country at the invitation of the APW and the Youth Directorate there (DJS). It was about training animators of the Wilaya in amateur astronomy as well as delivering public lectures. The program was a sounding success .. More here .

The Fifth Edition of the Cirta-Science Competition :
Feb. 16 and March 16- 2013

This year's laureates will be heading to the land of the Rising Sun, Japan. The first round starts on Saturday, February 16 at the Malek Haddad Cultural Palace with 500 candidates from 51 High Schools while the 2nd round was on March 16th. Here the link to the facebook page and ... More here
Bringing Astronomy ... to the High Schools: December 2012- March 2013
A strong dedicated group of Sirusiens have started in earnest bringing Astronomy to the High Schools and Middle Schools of the Constantine area. A string of eight institutions have received their visits in the past three months It consists of lectures, animation, astronomical expositions. More here.
The Yearly Astro Retreat 2012: Focus on training: 29-30 December 2012
It has been a Sirius tradition to hold a Winter retreat every year for our members in order to reflect upon our activities and project ourselves in the future. Some retrospection as it were. In addition, we had a rich training program made of intensive courses and workshops.. More here .

The Canary Islands Trip for the Laureates of Cirta Science 4 : 09 -14 0ct - 2012
This year's laureates of the Competition went to visit the Gran Telescopio Canarias at La Palma, the largest optical telescope in the World. They also visited the Teide Observatory in Tenerife and various cultural and natural landmarks. A life time trip indeed... More here
Mentouri University Towards a revival of the Scientific Activities at Mentouri University
Sirius, thanks to its strong student component is working to reestablish the traditions of the scientific clubs there. It organized several public conferences with well known astronomers from abroad in addition to helping launch the new University Astronomy Club and collaborating with it in organizing their Astronomy Day on March 5, 2012

Jupiter's occultation: July 15, 2012
The occultation of Jupiter by the Moon was easily visible from North Africa in the early morning. Members of Sirius were at Djerba following the various phases of this graceful event in the early morning from Houmat Essouk along astronomers from Tunisia, Egypt and Iran.... More here.
